Join us for this self-paced exploration through resource-rich learning experiences designed to help teachers create instruction that develops students’ conceptual understanding.  Consider theoretical foundations, practical application and strategic assessment processes that help students to develop competencies, make meaningful connections between knowledge and the application of skills, and engage authentically with significant ideas within our complex world.

About the Presenter(s)

Cheryl Babin M.Ed., is a Designer of Professional Learning with the Calgary Regional Consortium.  With experience in public, international and independent schools as an educator, experiential learning director, instructional coach and consultant, Cheryl currently designs and facilitates online and face to face professional development sessions and serves as an International Baccalaureate Programme Coordinator.  Cheryl supported pre-service teachers as a sessional instructor for B. Ed. students at St. Mary's University in Calgary and has been an IB workshop leader in North America for 14 years. Specific areas of interest and experience include designing learning through pedagogy that ignites critical thinking, concept based curriculum and instruction, student engaged assessment, and the development of international-mindedness and global perspectives.

This self-paced course will be open from January 4th - February 5th, 2021. To receive a certificate of completion, participants must complete course work during this time frame. Sorry, no extensions will be provided.

Estimated time of completion of the full eCourse is approximately 10 hours. Total completion time will vary for individuals dependent on level of participation within the course.
