Join us for a full-day professional learning session led by Wanda Dechant, where we will delve into the innovative approach of Building Thinking Classrooms (BTC) as pioneered by Peter Liljedahl. Through hands-on activities and discussions, participants will have the opportunity to engage in BTC tasks, explore the 14 key practices, and familiarize themselves with the 4 toolkits essential for implementing BTC effectively in their classrooms.

This session is designed to equip K-12 teachers with practical strategies and inspiration to integrate BTC principles into their teaching practices. By the end of the day, you will leave with a deeper understanding of BTC, concrete ideas to kickstart BTC with your students, and guidance on where to access further resources to support your BTC journey.

Don't miss this chance to enhance your teaching practices and empower your students as critical thinkers within a supportive and dynamic learning environment.   This introductory day is designed for educators who are new to BTC.    Bring comfortable shoes as we will be standing and working at whiteboards.

  1. Experience Building Thinking Classrooms (BTC) tasks to implement in your own classroom.

  2. Gain an overview of the 14 practices and 4 toolkits associated with BTC.

  3. Obtain ideas on how to initiate BTC practices with your students.

  4. Discover where to access additional BTC resources.
