Target Audience: K-6 instructional leaders, pre-service teachers and teachers are encouraged to attend.

This session explores the integration of Indigenous ways of knowing into the K-6 English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum through Indigenous picture books, learning methods, and assessment techniques. Participants will experience how literature can serve multiple curricular objectives while deepening their understanding of Indigenous histories, cultures, and values. Throughout the session, we highlight the importance of equity in education by celebrating Indigenous storytelling, holistic learning approaches, and culturally responsive assessment methods.
