Building a literacy block into your daily grade 4-6 schedule can be a challenging task. There are various ways to structure them, but it's the components that are worthy of attention and collaborative conversation– such as targeted explicit phonics and phonemic awareness skills instruction as well as morphology, reading comprehension, and writing to name a few. Carve out time for this workshop to explore, critique, and ‘play with’ small group models to effectively capture your daily and weekly language arts instruction.  Participants are encouraged to have their own weekly/daily plans available for self-reflection. Take away new ideas, strategies, and approaches to build a robust literacy structure that works for you and your students’ needs!
