Join Assistive Technology Specialist and Coach Cathryn Graveline for a presentation that covers the use of assistive technology for diverse learners in the classroom. Assistive technology can bridge the gap for many students, allowing them to learn instead of struggling with tasks that are difficult for them and creating barriers to learning. Speech-to-Text, Text-to-Speech, iPad accessibly, graphic organizers, Rocket notebooks, SmartPens, C pens, notetaking/recording solutions, math solutions and more will be covered in this session. AT is everywhere and should be accessible to everyone. This presentation does not specifically target certain grade levels, however, it is mostly geared toward junior high and high school. I have used both text to speech and speech to text with upper elementary students. This is meant as an overview of what is available, some of which can be used lifelong. Students often use their tech more and more efficiently over time.
