TARGET AUDIENCE: ALL GRADE 4-6 TEACHERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND

What can it look like to fully engage with and embrace the outdoors as a complete and essential learning environment? During these 5, one hour sessions, we will support you in exploring what this could mean for your classroom in all seasons as you create a plan and implement it over the school year. In these new times where physical distancing may be part of our school reality, the outdoors offers engaging learning environments while giving students space. It is time to take this opportunity to expand your professional practice beyond the four walls of the classroom!

Participating in this collaborative community will give you:

  • Clarity on why outdoor learning and play is important for you and your students
  • An actionable plan to incorporate outdoor learning with your students
  • Accountabilityin carrying out your plan
  • Support ideas and inspiration from other teachers

Topics we will cover include: benefits of outdoor learning and play, barriers to getting outdoors, materials to spark curiosity, schoolyards, nearby nature, assessment and curriculum connections. We will also evolve our topics based on the needs of the participants, this is your collaborative community!
