TARGET AUDIENCE: K-12 SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS, DISTRICTS LEADS, TEACHERS AND EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND
This session will provide support for all levels of school authorities that results in an increased awareness and understanding of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit histories, perspectives, and Indigenous ways of knowing. Métis Elder Kerrie Moore will present on Trauma Informed Practices and provide strategies when working with students who are experiencing trauma, additionally, Kerrie will speak about how to create a school environment where every student feels safe and supported and where staff understand how trauma affects behavior and emotions.
This learning opportunity is being offered through an education for reconciliation grant from Alberta Education
