Powerful learning happens when teachers seamlessly merge content (Programs of Study) with competencies, as defined by the Ministerial Order on Student Learning. But what does this look like in practice? This interactive session will introduce Wonderville.org as a blended learning platform that delivers STEM education through the lens of competencies. Using methods such as game-based learning and design thinking challenges, Wonderville.org emphasizes creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and innovative problem solving for students.

In this session, participants will:

  • Explore the intersection of Alberta’s Programs of Study with competencies, emphasizing Science and Math
  • Understand the benefits of blended learning to bridge concepts
  • Use Wonderville.org to access games, videos, lesson plans, assessments, and digital teacher tools that support STEM content and competencies

This learning opportunity is being offered through curriculum implementation funding from Alberta Education.
