Target Audience: Middle years and High school teachers and instructional leaders are encouraged to attend.

Creating high-quality multiple-choice items is a challenge in any assessment. Multiple-choice items are often built that test trivial knowledge, simple recall and lower-level thinking. In this session, participants will receive advice and information as to how to create effective assessments that measure “big picture” outcomes and higher-level thinking. Participants are encouraged to bring items that they are currently using in their assessments with the goal of putting their learnings into practice to improve the quality.
