Join Michelle and Miriam to dig into how sentence structure develops from simple to complex and how this awareness can transfer into supporting your young writers better express their ideas. Together, we will look at general writing development through the Layers of Writing graphic, aligned with the ELAL curriculum, and take a deep dive into building sentences. We will also look at the role of vocabulary and descriptive language play in writing, and how we can use these types of words to build out more complex sentences. This session is targeted for grade 3-6 teachers and will embed interactive activities throughout to illustrate how you can take these ideas and build them into your classroom right away!
