Target Audience: Gr 1-12 instructional leaders and teachers are encouraged to attend.

Vocabulary instruction is at the core of language learning. Words need to be visible and comprehensible. EAL learners need to have 10-20 encounters with a word to have it become part of their lexicon. This session will explore a variety of vocabulary strategies including direct instruction, contextual cues, word analysis, consolidating meaning, recycling, spiralling, and clusters, clines, and collocations.
