Chris Meaden
Chris Meaden is excited to be working as Director of Teacher Professional Development for Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta. A long time educator, she began her teaching career in northern Saskatchewan. She worked in three other rural Saskatchewan schools teaching a wide variety of subjects from K to 12 and enjoyed consulting with the Saskatchewan Ministry regarding both assessment and common essential learnings. In Saskatchewan, she also had the opportunity to achieve credentials in gifted education which was the impetus for her move to Calgary with her beautiful family in 1991. Since that time, she has enjoyed the diversity of her roles in the Calgary Board of Education teaching in GATE, the gifted and talented education program; working centrally as a specialist in Student Services and Career Pathways; providing school leadership in Knowledge and Employability, Middle school, and High School. It was an honor to work with Alberta Education and a Canadian Astronaut namesake to open a new high school in Calgary according to the principles of high school redesign. For the past six years, it has also been her pleasure to work as part of the Calgary Board of Education Director team, providing support to curriculum, off campus education, partnerships and the schools in Area Two.
