Cheryl BabinM.Ed., is a Designer of Professional Learning with the Calgary Regional Consortium. With experience in public, international and independent schools as an educator, experiential learning director, instructional coach and consultant, Cheryl currently designs and facilitates online and face to face professional development sessions and serves as an International Baccalaureate Programme Coordinator. Cheryl supported pre-service teachers as a sessional instructor for B. Ed. students at St. Mary's University in Calgary and has been an IB workshop leader in North America for 14 years. Specific areas of interest and experience include designing learning through pedagogy that ignites critical thinking, concept based curriculum and instruction, student engaged assessment, and the development of international-mindedness and global perspectives.
Hannah Fisherhas been an elementary and middle school teacher in Calgary public schools for 14 years and currently works as a specialist in curriculum assessment for the Calgary Board of Education. Her pedagogical interests include equitable grading practices, worthwhile task design and classrooms for social justice.
Cori Braunis a Strategist for School Improvement with the Calgary Board of Education. With twenty-two years of teaching experience in Kindergarten to Grade six and twelve years of Learning Leader experience in the area of Educational Technology, Cori designs and facilitates professional learning opportunities for teachers and school leaders. Cori graduated from the University of Calgary with her B.Ed as an Elementary Generalist with an ELA major, as well as her Masters in Educational Technology. Cori is passionate about creating and designing opportunities for teachers to learn and grow. With a thorough understanding of the K-6 Alberta Curriculum, Cori has an expertise in supporting teachers in rich and rigorous task design that engages all learners.
Brianne O'Sullivanis currently a Specialist with The Calgary Board of Education in core curriculum and assessment. She has experience as an elementary generalist and middle school math/science teacher, guidance teacher and numeracy/literacy strategist. She is particularly passionate about building relational trust with students and colleagues, designing worthwhile and engaging learning tasks, and using equitable assessment practices that improve learning.
This series will be recorded and available to all registered participants for 30 days.
Sessions will be tailored to participants’ needs in terms of grade level/subject discipline.
