Calgary Regional Consortium (CRC), on behalf of Alberta Regional Professional Development Consortium (ARPDC) is pleased to announce a new interactive e-workshop entitled What are Literacy & Numeracy?:Module One.  A corresponding Module, to be released this spring, will focus on extending this theme to Alberta Education’s new Literacy and Numeracy Progressions.

Designed to build awareness and understanding for educational staff about the definitions and components of literacy and numeracy, this e-workshop is accessible 24/7 to accommodate the busy schedules of educators and educational staff.

Join this self-paced learning opportunity to:

  • expand methods and deepen understanding about integrating literacy and numeracy across grade levels and subject areas.
  • participate in on-line discussion groups and share current practices and strategies for developing students’ literacy and numeracy skills via a Virtual Café.

For completion of the criteria outlined in the ‘Course Overview’ tab, participants will earn a Certificate of Completion. Completion of the required components will take approximately 3 to 4 hours in total, and must be completed prior to the session end date. Alternatively, participants can also choose to explore the e-workshop materials at their own pace, to suit their own personal needs, instead of working towards a certificate.

Participate now or join the next session starting in September 2017!

This learning opportunity is being offered through a grant from Alberta Education.
