The Education for Reconciliation eCourse provides a learning pathway for all members of a school community to deepen their awareness and understanding of 'Foundational Knowledge' as it pertains to Alberta's Indigenous Peoples. This eLearning opportunity is intended to help participants create shared understandings of the diverse First Nations, Métis, and Inuit culture and traditions, values and attitudes, and of historical and contemporary realities of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people in Alberta.
The Education for Reconciliation eCourse is designed for all members of a school community, and is accessible by participants 24/7 to accommodate the busy schedules of those wishing to participate in this dynamic learning opportunity.
Join our online facilitator, Donna Ross, for this self-paced eLearning opportunity where participants will have the ability to:
Donna Rossis an Indigenous educator with 30 years of experience in Alberta working with Indigenous communities, providing professional consulting, and supporting schools with Indigenous Knowledge Systems. Donna brings passion and deep knowledge of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit histories, the impact of residential schools, and the infusion of Indigenous ways of knowing into the Alberta curriculum and organizational culture. Currently Donna is consulting with post-secondary programs, working with K-12 teachers as an Indigenous knowledge keeper, and as a designer of professional learning. She resides in Calgary, AB and is a proud kokum.

This self-paced course will be open from January 9 - March 9, 2020. To receive a certificate of completion, participants must complete course work during this time frame. Sorry, no extensions.
