AUDIENCE: K-12 EDUCATORS, SUPPORT STAFF, PARENTS AND ADMINISTRATORS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.

Join us in a day of celebrating literacy with author David Bouchard, as he shares his journey as a literacy leader and advocate of the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action.  K-12 educators, support staff, parents and administrators are invited to attend this learning opportunity with the focus on Indigenous literature for all learners. David’s message includes; “We must support our educators who will be asked to share how our country acted towards, reacted to and significantly impacted our First People. Together, we must help them and share the responsibility of explaining our history to our youth.” David Bouchard has come to understand that the ultimate challenge for Indigenous people is to succeed in a system where reading is a prerequisite by creating a culture of belonging and sharing through story. As a storyteller and sought after speaker, David is proud of his Metis heritage and continues to be a community leader in Greater Victoria on Vancouver Island.
