AUDIENCE: The cultural camp will allow school administrators, educators, learning leads, support staff and parents the opportunity to experience a rich culture and a unique historical and contemporary perspective of the Siksikai'tsitapi.

Calgary Regional Consortium is offering an exciting and experiential cultural camp: Land of the Blackfoot to share the ways of the Siksikai’tsitapi. The camp will increase awareness of impacts of historical perspectives and build foundational knowledge of the Blackfoot language, culture , spirituality and the concept of relationality to everything.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will learn about the rich culture and history of the Siksikai’tsitapi, to enhance the implementation of foundational knowledge for all learners.
  • The camp will help to ensure participants are taught culturally relevant knowledge of the Siksikai’tsitapi.
  • Siksikai’tsitapi ceremonial knowledge keepers will share teachings to heighten a deeper understanding of the impacts of intergenerational trauma and colonization
