FFCA
is a K-12 public charter school in Calgary. Grade 4-6 teachers have been on a learning journey to better understand how effective spelling instruction strengthens students’ ability to read, write and represent ideas. Although initially the questions were related to resources, and which one was best, the conversation has now evolved to the consideration of key approaches to spelling. Teachers are coming to understand how these key approaches influence the development of students ability to effectively communicate.
