Moving Forward with High School Redesign causes schools to rethink STRUCTURES, PRACTICES and LEADERSHIP to realize a new high school experience for all students through the nine principles of redesign.
STRUCTURE: How do you rethink structures and create a shift in teacher practice?
PRACTICE: How do you change teaching practices to optimize outcomes for students?
LEADERSHIP: How do you effectively manage change?
Participants in this session will have opportunity to share and learn from each other as they listen to the stories of transformation, successes and obstacles of the journey in redesign as shared by a panel of rural and urban high school administrators and teachers.
“We are at the beginning of a powerful disruption that will grow in leaps and bounds. We must have our wits about us to take advantage of this once-in-a-century opportunity. We must take a trial-experiment-learn-refine approach to this next phase.” Michael Fullan Stratosphere: Integrating Technology, Pedagogy, and Change Knowledge (2012)
