TARGET AUDIENCE: GRADES 7-12 TEACHERS, LEARNING COACHES AND MATH COACHES ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND

Moving away from a "homework, quiz, and test" model and towards as an "outcome-based" model, allows us to have different conversations around assessment in mathematics to ensure mastery learning is still occurring.   Hattie’s research in, “Visible Learning for Mathematics” shows the impactful effect size of teacher clarity at 0.75.  Teacher Clarity starts with picking essential outcomes and then determining "What does success look like?", we can move to an assessment model where learning, not grades, is the focus of every assessment.  We will also discuss redos, retakes, and how to deal with these, and other common, issues.   Bring your assessment questions and join us for an interactive day where you will leave with practical ideas to try in your educational setting.

Dave is joining us again on March 20 to share about Visualization in grades 7-12 Math, come and join us for round 2!

This learning opportunity is being offered through curriculum implementation funding from Alberta Education.
