Learning Opportunities

Exponents and Algebra: A Visual Exploration – Please join us in exploring exponents as physical quantities, with concrete manipulations, and building spatial sense of exponential operations and hence, algebraic expressions. This session will go through various hands-on explorations and class discussions that allow students to construct their own visualization of what an exponent is, and how to make sense of mathematical operations with these types of numbers and expressions. This is colorful – so have your graph paper and pencil crayons!
