TARGET AUIDENCE: GRADE 10-12 TEACHERS AND ADMINISTRATORS OF DIPLOMA EXAM SUBJECTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND

No matter where your opinion falls on the issue of the need for them or how much they are weighted, Diploma Examinations remain an integral element of Alberta’s high school graduation certification process.  This session, provided by a former Director of the Diploma Examinations Branch of Alberta Education, offer insights into all elements of the examinations from how they are made and scored, how students can best prepare for writing the exams, and how to interpret the results.  There will also be a discussion of the appropriate relationship between school-awarded marks and exam marks, focusing on issues such as “grade inflation”.

Participants are encouraged to ask questions to eliminate gaps in knowledge and common misconceptions.

This learning opportunity is being offered through curriculum implementation funding from Alberta Education.
