AUDIENCE: LST'S, LEARNING COACHES, BEST AND DIVERSITY TEACHERS DOING LEVEL B TESTING ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.

At the end of the Level B sessions, participants will receive a certificate of completion. Participants must attend all 3 days of training to receive a certificate.

Participants will have met the following learning outcomes:

  • Develop in-depth understanding of the three Levels of testing and how they differ
  • Understand the role of each Level (A, B, and C) in educational assessment
  • An in-depth understanding of the principles of standardized testing, the international and provincial standards for Level B assessment, ethical test selection and use, understanding measurement statistics (standard deviation, T, z, standard and other score transformations, standard error of measurement, confidence intervals, etc.).
  • How to interpret Level B test scores to parents, teachers, and children
  • The important role of non-standardized tests.
  • How to choose tests, establish basal and ceilings, scoring with precision, meeting Alberta Guidelines.


At the conclusion of the course, participants will have the requisite skills to select, administer (after structured practice), score and interpret all Level B tests. Discussion includes such tests as the WIAT, WJPB, KeyMath, PPVT-IV, Alberta Diagnostic, GORT, etc.

This session is being offered on a cost recovery basis.
