TARGET AUDIENCE: ALL K-8 MATH TEACHERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND

Spatial reasoning is critical to mathematical thinking and achievement. This engaging and practical workshop will focus on embedding spatial reasoning activities into all math strands so students gain strong conceptual understanding of the math.  An overview of spatial reasoning will be given as well as how to ‘spatialize’ the math curriculum. Spatial activities that use manipulatives, visual representations, and technology will be explored. The power of visualization and related activities will also be investigated.

This learning opportunity is being offered through curriculum implementation from Alberta Education.
