Shelly Read
is currently an Instructional Coach with Foothills School Division. She has spent most of her career teaching grades 6-9 math, science and physical education and has also worked as a Learning Coach. Shelly believes that the seven mathematical processes and a blend of procedural and conceptual understanding are vital for student understanding in math. Currently, Shelly is a member of Alberta's curriculum redesign team in the areas of science and math and she recently completed a Creating Cultures of Thinking on-line course. Key influences for Shelly are Project Zero, The Critical Thinking Consortium, and her colleagues at FSD.
