Learning Opportunities

AUDIENCE: GRADES 5-9 CTF TEACHERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.

This deep dive on assessment explores best practices that can be used to both measure and enhance learning in alignment with the new CTF framework. Participants will be equipped with the knowledge, tools and resources to engage in balanced and effective assessment planning and practices. Throughout the session, application time will be embedded to develop materials and tools in mini workshops on key assessment topics, including:

• Creating & using rubrics as well as other methods of assessment
• Coaching the tuning and development of student work over time
• Collecting, archiving and reporting learning

Participants will work on designing a balanced assessment plan for a unit or a project. Participants will balance performance based asssessments with traditional assessments through a careful analysis of their learning outcomes. Walk out the door with an array of assessment tools for your unit or project.
