TARGET AUDIENCE: GRADE K-6 SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS, DISTRICT LEADS, TEACHERS AND EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND

In this session, First Nations, Métis, and Inuit; Learning from Story; will highlight the concept of the Oracy Framework, which presents the significant use of language based learning to teach students to use effective communication skills.  The sharing of trickster/truth stories will model strategies to demonstrate the importance of listening, speaking effectively and the power of silence. Language based activities will scaffold the Oracy Framework and an Indigenous Literature Kit will provide plans and stories to use within your classroom.

This learning opportunity is being offered through curriculum implementation funding from Alberta Education.
